Can My Newborns Cord Blood Help Cure My Sisters Diabetes?

Anyone know if it would be possible to use my newborns cord blood to help my sister cure her diabetes? I don’t really want to spend the 2000… to save it if there really is no chance.

No. Stem cell research might eventually find a cure (or a better treatment) for diabetes. And there are some stem cells in the cord. But between those stem cells and the cure for diabetes is hundreds of millions of dollars, or billions of dollars, in scientific research, and maybe several years.
If you could cure diabetes with a newborn’s umbilical cord, there would be people lining up outside the maternity ward to buy them!
