What R Our Options For Cord Blood Banking If My Hubby And I Decide Not To Bank It?can We Donate It N Where To?

I just want to know if anyone knows the different places we can donate our cord blood? We cannot afford to pay the fees ourselves and I did hear someone on here say how she donated hers to the local K-9 Unit.. anyone know where else we can donate it to rather then telling the hospital to just get rid of it?
